  Hangs up the phone...The wife looks at her husband sheepishly & asks:"Who was that?"...The husband says:" I don't know, but he wanted to know if the coast was clear!"...

  Yesterday I saw two raccoons who had been hit by cars in Rosedale...I mean, how fast do people travel in their cars through Rosedale? Really? Is there really a need to speed through a downtown residential area??? Let's clamp down on speeders in Toronto...& when is it going to be a fine & penalty with demerits if you hit an animal in your car?
  Last thought for now...Condominium boards approving the use of rat & mice & pigeon poisons in their gardens...The same places where residents bring their dogs? Their children? Themselves? Really?

at the Agincourt Library, which we found out yesterday has a fabulous collection of books!

It's a very busy, very active library...

I am only showing two oil on linen paintings, Magnolia & Tempesta, both 3 feet by 4 feet...

They are really quite good!

I felt that if I had a very spare show that it would be more didactic...

Let people stare at the two instead of cluttering their minds with too many objects...

Since it is a library, it is not really an opening reception type place- you know, wine, song, women & food bits...

I was just looking at their policy, which is that I can rent a room to have a reception, but I don't think I am going to do that...

For the two months, I am going to let people mozy on up there on their own time & schedule-Canadian-style...

The show was arranged through Scarborough Arts a very exciting non-profit organization that does a bundle in the community...

Now during the months between November & April inclusive, I can be found feeding the Trumpeter swan family at Bluffers park...I hand feed wild bird seed as part of a program through the Trumpeter swan society...There is a great bar/restaurant there called Dogfish bar which is open until the week before Christmas...Go there & have a lunch or dinner with a friend & they will tell you where the swans are or you will see the swans motoring by...There are seven new baby swans this year with their parents & 5 babes from last year...

Of course, everyone including yourself & your girlfriend/spouse/partner/boyfriend/husband/child/parent/friend are welcome & encouraged to bring wild bird seed & hand feed them during the winter months...It can save their lives...Drive slowly into the parking lot to avoid hitting any waterbirds btw...

  I probably remain somewhat elusive to you & everyone else, as I am on the go alot & am a little hard to get a hold of in person...I am also married to a giant thug who is fiercely jealous & possessive of my greatness & beauty & gorgeousity (I just turned 46 on Sept.18 so I am allowed ego for the week I think)...It is also possible that your girlfriend/spouse/partner/boyfriend/husband/child/parent/friend  may mind your gorgeousity getting too friendly with me...I am a terrible flirt, so I have learned to keep the male species somewhat at a distance, especially for my own safety(murderous girlfriends & wives can be a hazard)...

  The internet is fine I think. but planning a meeting on purpose is too much of a commitment...

  Were you uglier perhaps...When you become much uglier, perhaps we can meet again in person...

This is #18 Nylon Line from Creative Yarn Source in Ohio, woven using a monkey chain knot & an Italian lace bobbin technique, around a floatable bottom half of Tupperware, with enough line to be able to lower the basket full of wild bird seed from a bridge...That red plastic thing on the right side of the picture is the inner part of the used line, which I am using as a grip so I don't lose hold of the rope...This is for winter feeding of Trumpeter swans & other waterbirds...

(works wonders by the way)...But a doctor freaked out due to ignorance of Chinese medicine, so while I wait for the board of the Holland centre (an orthopaedic & arthritic facility, literally), I have been searching for another mercury based medicine...I found Rudrashka seeds, which can be worn around the neck...I have ordered a prayer necklace from India, so that I can get around the paranoia that Cinnabar creates...(at least while they change their minds about it-which can take a while with doctors who are stupid)...For the record, Cinnabar is very effective at regenerating destroyed cartilage...The Herb Depot on Spadina south of College carried it (red sand), & you boil it for half an hour then drink as a tea...One knife edge costs about 2 dollars, though you will need more for bad injuries...Take it slow & don't take it for 2-3 days in between...bring a Chinese speaking friend along if you go to the herb Depot- their English is slim...
  I will write here again when my Rudraksha necklace arrives...To see if it is truly an analagous medicine...In the meantime, Shneider's pepperoni sticks also contain a certain amount of fatty cartilage that will have to do for now...(The new osteoporosis drugs contain way too much magnesium, so your mother may be getting the lead she needs for her bones, but her cartilage may be degrading...There are Class Actions you can join in Canada about this...To give you an idea, magnesium is like Milk of Magnesia, a powerful laxative- these osteo drugs cause the person to pooh out their own cartilage...The laxative effect is so addictive, they don't realize what is happening until they are told they need a hip, knee or other joint replacement...)

Some of my stories(about animals being moral):

  1)When I feed the Trumpeter swans (who are part of an Ontario restoration project), in winter, I must always first feed any smaller waterbirds...The ducks, the Canada geese, any pigeons, the seagulls, must all have some wild bird seed before I can feed the swans...Theses gentle giants ( the largest waterbird in the world) refuse to dine until everyone else is fed...

  2)Up at our farm, one very freezingly cold day, I arrived, to find Sass, an older Morgan horse, sort of stuck in our field...He couldn't move he was so cold...I tried to lead him into the barn...But he needed some warmth...DJ, a younger barrel racer horse came over & got on his back legs, & then lay on top of the back of Sass...Some moments elapsed, Sass felt warmer, & he started to walk with me to the barn...

  3)Our intact unrelated bengal cat ladies both came to me from the same breeder, though they arrived 3 months apart...The first kitten B'Elanna, I used to sing to before I went to sleep...One time I ended my singing with 'Now I lay me down to sleep I pray the Lord my soul to keep & if I die before I wake I pray the Lord my soul to take'...What was astonishing to me was the little kitten bowed down her head when I started reciting the words...She knew the prayer...This was a Christian kitten! Later when Jadzia arrived, I already knew what to expect...Sure enough, the same bowing...

4)I know in Africa they refer to death as several stages...As in, 'is he a 5?' 5 might mean very dead...'or is he a 2?' 2 might be just a little bit dead...It is a scalable thing...Might be useful in hospitals...I mean, you know when someone is on their way...But you don't know how far they have gotten...Are they unconscious? can they breathe on their own? These are stages of death...In the same way, morality should be scalable...Is she a little bit moral? Say a 2...She likes to feed pigeons but she can be harsh with stray moths...Is she a 5? She picked up an injured raccoon off the road & walks her disabled neighbour's dog daily...

5)There could be a ratings system, a questionnaire of sorts...How moral are you? I don't distinguish between humans & animals myself, because humans are animals...So the questionnaire would be comprehensive...

(my answer to a dissenter there...) This article argues with a cold scientific/philosophic world context that pre-assumes immorality...It is more of an answer than some sort of lukewarm mash of "on the other hand" that you can find elsewhere...It is by Mark Rowlands, & as such, if you have read his other books, might understand that you are talking to someone who loves animals...If you have a problem with this bias, I suggest that you are at fault, not this article...The fact that there are more examples spoken of, of animal immorality, just shows that the world of science & philosophy is biased in its own human egotism & a priori conceits...The good people aren't speaking because they are too busy tending to their friends, the fish, the geese, the wolves, & the swans...Which is harder work than complaining that you got scratched by your cat, thus your cat must be immoral...

Below (video):This is me, still waiting to receive my refund...(A refund from Td Insurance for selling me credit card insurance that self-employed people cannot use)...
Aside: (Canada Post has a deal with Td Insurance, where even though you pay them 13 dollars for a signature & fast delivery, that they dump your couriered package into a holding area, for up to 15 days, & then Td Insurance signs when there are 100-200 items at one time...Canada Post just sent me a refund cheque for my 13 dollars, after I opened an investigation about this...I had to call & make them search for the envelope containing my release form in order to get them to receive it...Long story short, deliver your important documents in person...)
  Once they got the release(I signed a release based on the fact that Td Insurance would be giving me a refund on all my premiums for selling me a credit card insurance product over the phone that a self-employed person could not make a job loss claim on, ever...), they hemmed & hawed for a while, then I found out that apparently the entire office had "gone on vacation", together...
  However, when they found out that legally the release does not take effect until I got a cheque, that I could still talk because they hadn't refunded me my money yet, that expedited things...The fact that CBC Marketplace was wanting to do a full on 1-2 hour interview with me on Tuesday afternoon(I said I could not if I had received the cheque before then), helped to motivate the lone person still at the office to do the right thing & Purolator a cheque to me...However, I was told it was coming yesterday & it didn't...Now I am told it is coming today...It has not...As of yet...Once I get the cheque in hand, I will have to shut up about this...But I encourage others to keep trying to get your refund...

By the way, don't be fooled by credit card insurance promises: In Canada, if you get sick, OHIP covers your medical costs...If you die, your relatives are NOT beholden to pay off your credit card debts...Don't be fooled...Self-employed people cannot make a claim for job loss...Nor can freelance workers, seasonal workers, part-time workers, workers who think they are full-time workers but maybe have two weeks at Christmas where they only worked 20 hours per week instead of 40 hours per week(Yes, someone was declined a claim based on that exact reason!)...Know that most people who are sold credit card insurance do not qualify to make a claim from the beginning...Students don't qualify...retired people don't qualify...People with pre-existing medical conditions don't qualify...Either you don't qualify, or they figure out a way to deny you a claim at the end...The secret to credit card insurance is to sell as much as you can, then don't fill any claims, ever...That way profit is huge...It is illegal in England now...The Class Action lawsuit wins in the States are piling up...Canada has banned any insurance sale in the province of Alberta without an insurance licence...Yes, credit card insurance sellers do NOT have an insurance licence...Do NOT, under any circumstance, buy any insurance from anyone who doesn't have an insurance licence...Ask...Do you have an insurance licence? If the answer is no, then hang up the phone...Run...It is a scam, sham , fraud, con, fool, moneygrab, ruse, shill...
