Changemakers is one of those places where you promote a project & people rip you apart...<br />
<br />
This is called feedback...<br />
<br />
It takes up much of your time & sometimes money...<br />
<br />
The reward is usually you get a better project...<br />
<br />
If you actually listen to them ripping you apart, instead of ignoring feedback which I sometimes do...<br />
<br />
Feel free to see what we are doing there...<br />
<br />
It's about our App...<br />

The App itself is at bwell.mobi/grove<br />

If you are Mum, then the first movie is just a card, a singing 3d animated card I made using my Blender 3d animation program...(I am still learning, so I cannot do much yet)...<br />
Below that are 3 pictures of the sculpture called "Spring" which is right now sitting at your back deck...It is made of homemade marble on a copper pipe armature with chicken wire, & adorned with grass & moss & flowers (none of which are real by the way, so it won't decompose...)<br />
You can easily lift "Spring" carefully holding it around the body, not the tail...try not to displace the moss on the underside & sides when lifting, though if you do that is alright...<br />
Happy Mother's Day!!! love Sari & Joseph & the cats (B'Elanna & Jadzia)...<br />

Another artist has had her work stolen by a fashion designer...here is the link to the story...<br />

Here is my comment...<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: normal;">Well, looking at the original photograph which is truly beautiful, & looking at the oversaturated high contrast lower quality fabric print-making technique that was used on the clothing, it does indeed make the two look significantly different...I would buy that photograph in a minute, but the dress for example in that photo of the couple is quite garish looking- the orange colour is too prominent & the navy tones look black...For me the fabric print reeks of Hallowe'en costumes-orange & black...Now in a court of law this could work against the original artist, because a work has to be significantly changed to be allowable...The photograph would appeal to the highest classes of aesthetics, whilst the fabric really goes well with a bad pink hair dye job & a guy wearing a cheapsuit that doesn't fit...I'd be angry too except for the dude you are fighting with looks like somebody who needs serious help...A charity case...I sort of feel sorry for him & his lack of ethic as well...You do have to pick your fights...I wonder how much of his crappy printing of your work has actually sold & made him a profit? Bottom line? God knows...Maybe alot, maybe nothing...The printing really is not appealing, the colour changes... Don't know if it is worth going further...I mean, the internet publicity alone about this is alot...Going to court is tiring & expensive...perhaps there is another way? Hmmm...Steal one of his designs? Leave dog poo on his lawn? bring a bag of bugs to one of his fashion shows? You could get creative? Why always lawyers? Maybe there is another more esoteric way? (By the way those suggestions are not really serious)... :)</span></div>

<br />
<h2 style="text-align: left;">
<a href="http://mad.ly/6ffc83">http://mad.ly/6ffc83</a> Show Notice: March 13 to the 24th, Sari Grove is showing Dragonfly at The PaperMill gallery...The public reception (party-like thing) is on Thursday March 21st, 2013 between 6:30 pm & 8:30 pm...Please No Flirting with the Artist if you go...She is very married & her husband is large & territorial...However, compliments are acceptable...Please dress in your finest chic but cazh- (Casual)(how do you write cas. phonetically, cage?)...Anyways, please look wonderful...You will be amongst a group of people who all they care about is how things look...Be prepared to be looked at...Studied...or come completely unprepared in defiance...I have no idea if or what food will be served, let alone alcohol...So please eat well beforehand...I'd say drink well, but many of you will be driving, since , let's be honest, walking to 67 Pottery Road is kind of far & dangerous...probably not a good idea...Please be aware that Fantasy farm is across the road from the Todmorden Mills heritage site...The animals will be sleeping if you attend the night reception, so please whisper instead of shouting...bringing them gifts might not be allowed...But bonus points for those who consider that...If you forgo the party & come on another day that is good...Why? because light tends to be better during the day...Light is pretty important to how you see art...Plus the animals across the street will be awake & then you can visit them, which is your real goal...Um, I mean mine...If you don't see me at the art show I will be across the street in the barn looking at the animals...The link above tells what all got accepted into this show...Very prestigious show I might add...Bye, Sari</h2>

Architecture: Comment by Sari...(here's the original article I am commenting on...</div>

<div style="border-bottom-width: 0px; border-color: initial; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-style: initial; border-top-width: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: 13px; font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit; font: normal normal normal 13px/normal Helvetica; line-height: inherit; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; outline-color: initial; outline-style: initial; outline-width: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">
1)Height...How can a human feel empowered when the building behind is taller always? To feel empowered, build me a mountain that I can sit on top of...With the mountain beneath me, I no longer feel dwarfed... 2)Fashion...Watch a fashion show...Watch the ridiculously skinny women walk in more ridiculous high heels while wearing make-up & hair products & garments that are silly for anything but a runway photography shoot...How can architecture, which springs directly from our current society not also be ridiculous in its worship of form? Until we change the details of our influences, the nature of our philosophies on a small level, the big things cannot change either... 3)God...God creates...God is the best architect of all, especially when it comes to public spaces...I think when we forget that nature is the most beautiful of spaces we drown in our own hubris...What we have been given was already perfect, mostly we have just ruined it...Perhaps, when in doubt, we should just leave things alone...4)By the nature of it, building a building is encroaching upon public space...The very putting up of something that was not there before splices the space into have & have not...The have is for those who go inside...By this conversation, I am to assume that public space means outside? So by putting up anything, one is subtracting from public space...Which leads back to my last point perhaps, that nothing, not building, is better for public space in an elemental way based on just size of space allotted...5)Which brings me back to the question...Why must public space be only outside? or am I wrong & have missed the point? Can the parameters of public space include interiors? What makes a space public? 6) <a href="http://goo.gl/maps/OQAIO">http://goo.gl/maps/OQAIO</a> ( I don't know how to make the link hot, sorry, copy & paste if you feel like it)...(I don't want to use someone else's photo without permission, sorry-hence the link...) *This is The Todmorden Mills Heritage Site...<span style="border-bottom-width: 0px; border-color: initial; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-style: initial; border-top-width: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: 13px; font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit; font: normal normal normal 13px/normal Arial; line-height: inherit; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; outline-color: initial; outline-style: initial; outline-width: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">"<b>Todmorden Mills</b> Heritage Site is made up of the <b>Papermill</b> Theatre and Gallery, the Brewery Gallery, two historic houses and 9.2 hectare wildflower garden <b>...</b>" This site is very successful with the public...Across the street is Fantasy Farm where there is a barn with farm animals that one can interact with...The theatre has great plays...The Art gallery within the theatre is hugely active within the community...The size of the wildflower garden, is well, you know, really big...Is this a successful site from the parameters of this article? I think so...How much did it cost to build? How much did the architects get paid? To maintain? How much do people love it? (Alot actually)...I guess I am saying that old things are nice...Maybe architects should spend more time on fixing up stuff that is already there rather than making the next new thing...? Restoration...Heritage work...Stuff people care about & use alot...The content of what is inside the buildings there are key...The Arts...The people in the arts...I'm not going to show a picture of the animals in the barn across the street...But I love that place...</span></div>

The breakfast buffet at Whole Foods market could comfort Cruela De Ville's cold heart...Joseph brought back a selection including: turkey sausage, cinnamon french toast, tortiere, & scrambled eggs with peppers, some fried onions...So good that one of our intact lady bengal cats came by for a visit...She chose the tortiere like the good carnivorian that she is...(her name is Jadzia, a Star Trek name)...Cost was $16.00 canadian currency...<br />
<br />
The Spare Hand project: idea is to make a spare hand that can carry light grocery bags or hold a dog leash...A simple, cheap, easy to make, prosthetic for people missing a hand...It could be put on or taken off quickly, just for short errands in the winter...Only for some simple tasks, not intended to replace a full motion prosthetic...<br />
<br />

<a href="http://www.kjmagnetics.com/proddetail.asp?prod=RX436DCSPC-BLK&cat=16">http://www.kjmagnetics.com/proddetail.asp?prod=RX436DCSPC-BLK&cat=16</a> Ok, so I found a magnet that can fit a number 10 screw...My idea is to make a new index finger & thumb, like the one above, & screw the neodymium magnet on the end of the index finger & then another on the top of the thumb...The combined pull if you put the index finger magnet to the top of the thumb magnet will be about 20 lbs...This means you could carry up to a 20 lb. bag of groceries by making the index finger touch the tip of the thumb...My thought is that people missing a hand, but wanting only basic function of carrying a bag of groceries, could use this very inexpensive to make, magnetic prosthetic...You could also hold the loop of a dog leash, another useful function...Of course, the more Plasti-Dip that I put on the prosthetic, the more cushioned it will be...But that is for when I am finishing the piece...For now it is helpful to be able to see how this is made...because theoretically, people could use this idea to make their own prosthetics...Wouldn't that be more fun than paying someone else?</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Note: Monday night at 11:48 pm... The locking nuts, because they sit on the end of the screw( instead of more in the middle where regular bolts have to sit with a washer) are tenuous in my opinion, for strength possibility...They are neat & great but I realize that any weight on them might cause them to nick off...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I don't know either whether the decision to use screws instead of custom cutting threaded rod was the right decision...Sure it is easier to use pre-cut 2 inch, 1-1/2 inch & 1 inch screws, but when I cut the rod with a bolt cutter, my weird by feel lengths feel more organic when the whole thing gets put together...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The clear rubber pipe really works well though...That was a totally new innovation that happened today at Canadian Tire (hardware store)...I was looking for tiny rubber bands, to cover the copper strapping at the bottom & create a nice rubbery bottom, but they didn't have any so the store employee suggested plumbing washers, those black rubber circles...So I stood looking at rubber washers, looking for ones big enough to encircle the 1/2 inch copper strapping...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Found two...But I needed like, well, a whole lot of them, & for 1.49 each pair it was too expensive...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I noticed some tubing...I asked for help...Someone else came & I asked if there was any tubing to fit the 1/2 inch copper strapping inside of it...So we looked...Together we decided that the 1/2 inch tube was too snug a fit, but the 3/4 inch diameter clear tube was gorgeous...She cut a foot for me...Delighted, I now had a way to cover the copper & rest the prosthetic comfortable on someone's stump where the hand should have been...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Of course, if I ever get to the point where my idea actually works, then I will have to create a strap to swing around the tube like a U, & then attach to an arm cuff...This would be the way the "hand" would attach to the person's arm...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Honestly, at this point I just want to say that art is usually what you call a real thing that fails design quotas...Ok, I am being harsh...But what I mean to say is that if this thing fails as a real prosthetic, it will be relegated to the world of art, which is far less judgemental than the real world...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I try to admit failure on some sort of regular basis...It keeps me humble & keeps my work pure...Once failure is admitted I can move on...The work often gets kept by me as I reminder of my toil & trouble...Failures often represent far more work time than successes...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Let's give this some time...prosthetics are hard...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<b>Tuesday: Above in the photo, </b>my little tape measure, the pink thing, flexible & with Imperial & Metric, size 10-24 screws (10 is the diameter of the screw, the 24 means the thread count like does it have many little threads or just a few), locking nuts-these are bolts that have a little circle washer attached to them that has little tiny spikes on it-if something presses up against the little circle washer with the spikes it rotates freely, so then the bolt doesn't come loose-the only thing is locking nuts won't thread UP a rod or screw, they just sit at the end only...To the right is a bolt cutter-that is what you use to cut a 10-24 rod or screw if you need a custom size-they are easy to use surprisingly...Notice I string cord through cardboard & paper to make a sketchpad-I write this because people forget that used cardboard makes a great backing for paper...I use nylon string, it is strong...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have come to think that if I boil down the whole prosthetic hand idea into something essentially functional to the essence of the function of a hand that it may just be the ability to carry a grocery bag or hold a dog leash that would provide a slight upgrade in functionality for someone missing a left hand without the burden of having to carry a whole prosthetic hand around...There is something about the lightness of movement that amputees or people born missing limbs like...They don't like prosthetics often because they are not accustomed to the extra weight of the limb...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My idea was to design something so simple, so inexpensive, so easy to use, that it would add a little bit of bonus to someone's life without a whole lot of problems...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
When I was boiling down the essence of hand in my mind, I started thinking about the opposable thumb idea...That the opposable thumb is supposed to be this such great invention...If that opposable thumb is so darn important, then it must be grabbing that is what is key...Because with an opposable thumb you can grab...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So with that in mind, the grabbing, & after observing our friend's needs, I decided two main things would be helpful to him...One to be able to carry two grocery bags of food, one in each "hand" instead of just one...And being able to hold the loop of a dog leash in either "hand"...Seeing as he has his right hand, the device for the missing left can be a manual...Manual as in, if the grab mechanism was manual by magnet, that the grab could be executed by using the right hand as a helper hand...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I am now down to just a thumb & index finger...But even more pared down, the index finger is now just a 2 inch screw & a 1-1/2 inch screw, held together by a copper strapping joint...I am going to add bolts to those, seeing as my idea of going boltless leaves the strapping kind of too loose...</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Comment: Wed. Feb. 6, 2013 at 7:34 pm evening...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So, I made this Carry hand, this time, with the thumb & index finger the same length...Did alot of deep thinking about this...I decided that a longer thumb would be an extra benefit to a person...Imagine if your thumb was as long as your index finger? When picking up a bag with handles, you wouldn't have to make sure your thumb got a grab, because your thumb would be the same length as your fingers...This would give people who use the "Carry Hand" an distinct advantage over people who have hands...I think that is ok...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After I made that decision, I left it alone in my mind...Later when I went to re-evaluate the idea I thought of something even better about this! If both the thumb & the finger of the "Carry hand" are the same length, then handedness doesn't matter!!! That means that the same device will work for people missing either a right hand or a left hand...This drives price down & makes it way easier for the seller...Neato Coolo! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Ok, attachment ideas: My uncle made an off the cuff remark about taking a glove & filling it with foam...But it was smart! from there, I was thinking a custom to whatever your skin colour is, skin coloured glove of sorts, of sorts 'cause only a thumb & index finger glove, but the shaft of the glove goes up over your wrist & up your arm, not sure how to make that secure, that will come...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So theoretically you could just pull this prosthesis on like a glove, & remove it like a glove...Like just cause you are going grocery shopping & want to carry 2 bags or you want to walk your dog with the "Carry Hand" & talk on your cellphone with your hand that isn't missing...(Yes, this design began with someone in mind who was only missing one hand...But you could totally get 2!!! Use them for both hands!)</div>

<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Two weeks ago, my mother's boyfriend, crossed the street in the middle at Marlborough & Yonge street in Toronto...<br />
<br />
Behind him, making a left hand turn onto Yonge from Marlborough was a taxi...<br />
<br />
The taxi cab, turning left, saw the pedestrian, honked, but continued to drive...<br />
<br />
The taxi struck my mom's friend...<br />
<br />
He got hit & ended up on the hood of the cab then fell backward onto the street, hitting the back of his head...<br />
<br />
At Sunnybrook hospital, they stapled his head back together again...They put him on a breathing tube & a feeding tube...<br />
<br />
Two weeks later his heart gave way & he died...That was on Tuesday...January 29th, 2013...<br />
<br />
His name was Arthur Brugger...He was from Germany...I think he had been my mum's boyfriend for more than 16 years (after my Dad died by the way)...<br />
<br />
It is a very sad sad thing...<br />
<br />
For those who knew him there is a reception at the Visitation Centre at Mount Pleasant Cemetery at 1:00 pm this Sunday...<br />
<br />
I am writing this for anyone on this planet who might ever considering crossing the street in the middle...<br />
<br />
Please don't do it...Please do not jaywalk...The loss to your family & friends is not worth the time or energy saved...<br />
<br />
Please just take the extra 5 or 10 minutes to wait for a light to change, to cross at a crosswalk...<br />
<br />
Please do not jaywalk...Try...Tell your friends not to jaywalk...Reprimand teens you see doing it...<br />
<br />
This loss is so pivotal to our concentric circle...It alters our reality...The ripple effect of this loss will be huge...<br />
<br />
I guess that is all that I can say for now...Oh, the taxi cab driver was charged with careless driving, even though the pedestrian was jaywalking...Little comfort now...<br />

me...just before Xmas...<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
We hung the show yesterday...yesterday was 12/12/12...<br />
<br />
So, I decided, since the number was close to the lowest price I could offer, that I would make the price for each work exactly $1,212.12 ...<br />
<br />
The solo show, (me), is titled, or called "Magnolia & Tempesta"...& that is what you will see when you go...<br />
<br />
The painting Magnolia & the painting Tempesta...<br />
<br />
You see, these are very good paintings...They took me a long time & much work both inside & outside the art world...<br />
<br />
Maybe you want to see a plethora of work...But that is not what I want you to see...<br />
<br />
I want you to be able to just look at one work...Then the other work...<br />
<br />
What makes them different...What makes them the same...<br />
<br />
How do they make you feel?<br />
<br />
What do you think about the price? The number $1,212.12? Is that neat?<br />
<br />
By the way, 20% of that number goes to the not-for-profit Scarborough Arts...<br />
<br />
The library where the works are is called <a href="http://www.torontopubliclibrary.ca/detail.jsp?R=LIB02">Agincourt Library</a>...It is on 155 Bonis Avenue...There is free parking...There is a bathroom...It is the busiest most popular probably the best for books & resources library in the entire city...Yup...In Scarborough...But Scarborough is now part of Toronto, so that includes Toronto libraries...<br />

Semillon Grape with Noble Rot...12 inches deep to wall, 12 inches wide across, 19 inches long with strands of Mason's line nylon dripping to 40 inches down(picture does not show drip)....Other materials are copper strapping 1/2 inch, 10-24# galvanized threaded steel rods (galvanized means that the metal is covered with a zinc dip so that it won't rust)(threaded means you can thread bolts or nuts or couplings on it), 10-24 galv. coupling bolts, galv. locking bolts, galv. acorn bolts, galv. washers, elbow grease...All thread is a Mason's line type of nylon thread...(Mason's line is what stonemasons use to ascertain whether their brick line is straight...)(I get my nylon from Creative Yarn Source in Ohio & they are awesome!)<br />

I second & agree with the above letter...Also I'd like to add that putting out rat poison has serious environmental consequences, not only to the rats, who are a natural part of an ecosystem & serve as food for larger birds as well as other animals, but to the dogs, the cats, the waterbirds & other wildlife currently residing in Nairn as well as the people...A safer & more legal method of dealing with the rats, if they truly are a bother as opposed to some antiquated & obsolete paranoid about disease which is purely mythical & rubbish in 2012, is safe capture, relocation, & release & or adoption by local children...It has been found in Canada that rats make particularly good pets for children or adults with Down's Syndrome...They require less care & bond well...Catching these rats & rehoming them with a Down's Syndrome child or adult would have been a better, more legal & eco-friendly option...Besides it would have given joy & hope to a boy or girl or man or woman with Down's...I hope next time this will be considered prior to a killing...<br />Mrs. Sari Grove<br />The Waterbird Society<br />Province of Ontario<br />(member in good standing)</h3>

This the unofficial flag of Newfoundland...The green white & pink...Notice the similarity? (the blue in the Dragonfly is water)...<br />
<br />
<br />
Meanwhile in Newfoundland: a husband & wife are lying in bed...The phone rings...The wife desperately tries to answer but the husband grabs it first...He picks up the receiver, listens for a moment, then shouts into the phone:" How the hell should I know, it's 5 miles away!!!"...<br />
Hangs up the phone...The wife looks at her husband sheepishly & asks:"Who was that?"...The husband says:" I don't know, but he wanted to know if the coast was clear!"...<br />

<a href="http://www.defendersblog.org/2012/09/building-bridges-for-wildlife/">http://www.defendersblog.org/2012/09/building-bridges-for-wildlife/</a> Defenders of Wildlife are building bridges & passageways for wildlife to safely cross roads without getting hit...Fences around dangerous highways...<br />
Yesterday I saw two raccoons who had been hit by cars in Rosedale...I mean, how fast do people travel in their cars through Rosedale? Really? Is there really a need to speed through a downtown residential area??? Let's clamp down on speeders in Toronto...& when is it going to be a fine & penalty with demerits if you hit an animal in your car?<br />
Last thought for now...Condominium boards approving the use of rat & mice & pigeon poisons in their gardens...The same places where residents bring their dogs? Their children? Themselves? Really?<br />

Hi Person! <b>( a letter I sent to one person asking about the upcoming show & is there a reception & will they be seeing me in person or not?)(I decided to remove personal names from the letter & make it a more universal response with an explanation of why I am so hard to get)...</b></div>
<div>
Well it's Nov.27, 2012-Jan. 29, 2013</div>
<div>
at the Agincourt Library, which we found out yesterday has a fabulous collection of books!</div>
<div>
It's a very busy, very active library...</div>
<div>
I am only showing two oil on linen paintings, Magnolia & Tempesta, both 3 feet by 4 feet...</div>
<div>
They are really quite good!</div>
<div>
I felt that if I had a very spare show that it would be more didactic...</div>
<div>
Let people stare at the two instead of cluttering their minds with too many objects...</div>
<div>
Since it is a library, it is not really an opening reception type place- you know, wine, song, women & food bits...</div>
<div>
I was just looking at their policy, which is that I can rent a room to have a reception, but I don't think I am going to do that...</div>
<div>
For the two months, I am going to let people mozy on up there on their own time & schedule-Canadian-style...</div>
<div>
The show was arranged through Scarborough Arts a very exciting non-profit organization that does a bundle in the community...</div>
<div>
Now during the months between November & April inclusive, I can be found feeding the Trumpeter swan family at Bluffers park...I hand feed wild bird seed as part of a program through the Trumpeter swan society...There is a great bar/restaurant there called Dogfish bar which is open until the week before Christmas...Go there & have a lunch or dinner with a friend & they will tell you where the swans are or you will see the swans motoring by...There are seven new baby swans this year with their parents & 5 babes from last year...</div>
<div>
Of course, everyone including yourself & your girlfriend/spouse/partner/boyfriend/husband/child/parent/friend are welcome & encouraged to bring wild bird seed & hand feed them during the winter months...It can save their lives...Drive slowly into the parking lot to avoid hitting any waterbirds btw...</div>
<div>
I probably remain somewhat elusive to you & everyone else, as I am on the go alot & am a little hard to get a hold of in person...I am also married to a giant thug who is fiercely jealous & possessive of my greatness & beauty & gorgeousity (I just turned 46 on Sept.18 so I am allowed ego for the week I think)...It is also possible that your girlfriend/spouse/partner/boyfriend/husband/child/parent/friend may mind your gorgeousity getting too friendly with me...I am a terrible flirt, so I have learned to keep the male species somewhat at a distance, especially for my own safety(murderous girlfriends & wives can be a hazard)...</div>
<div>
The internet is fine I think. but planning a meeting on purpose is too much of a commitment...</div>
<div>
Were you uglier perhaps...When you become much uglier, perhaps we can meet again in person...</div>
<div>
Smile...</div>

(works wonders by the way)...But a doctor freaked out due to ignorance of Chinese medicine, so while I wait for the board of the Holland centre (an orthopaedic & arthritic facility, literally), I have been searching for another mercury based medicine...I found Rudrashka seeds, which can be worn around the neck...I have ordered a prayer necklace from India, so that I can get around the paranoia that Cinnabar creates...(at least while they change their minds about it-which can take a while with doctors who are stupid)...For the record, Cinnabar is very effective at regenerating destroyed cartilage...The Herb Depot on Spadina south of College carried it (red sand), & you boil it for half an hour then drink as a tea...One knife edge costs about 2 dollars, though you will need more for bad injuries...Take it slow & don't take it for 2-3 days in between...bring a Chinese speaking friend along if you go to the herb Depot- their English is slim...<br />
I will write here again when my Rudraksha necklace arrives...To see if it is truly an analagous medicine...In the meantime, Shneider's pepperoni sticks also contain a certain amount of fatty cartilage that will have to do for now...(The new osteoporosis drugs contain way too much magnesium, so your mother may be getting the lead she needs for her bones, but her cartilage may be degrading...There are Class Actions you can join in Canada about this...To give you an idea, magnesium is like Milk of Magnesia, a powerful laxative- these osteo drugs cause the person to pooh out their own cartilage...The laxative effect is so addictive, they don't realize what is happening until they are told they need a hip, knee or other joint replacement...)<br />

<b> 1)When I feed the Trumpeter swans (who are part of an Ontario restoration project), in winter, I must always first feed any smaller waterbirds...The ducks, the Canada geese, any pigeons, the seagulls, must all have some wild bird seed before I can feed the swans...Theses gentle giants ( the largest waterbird in the world) refuse to dine until everyone else is fed...</b></div>
<b>

<div style="color: #073763; font: normal normal normal 14px/normal 'Helvetica Neue'; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<b> 2)Up at our farm, one very freezingly cold day, I arrived, to find Sass, an older Morgan horse, sort of stuck in our field...He couldn't move he was so cold...I tried to lead him into the barn...But he needed some warmth...DJ, a younger barrel racer horse came over & got on his back legs, & then lay on top of the back of Sass...Some moments elapsed, Sass felt warmer, & he started to walk with me to the barn...</b></div>

<div style="color: #073763; font: normal normal normal 14px/normal 'Helvetica Neue'; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<b> 3)Our intact unrelated bengal cat ladies both came to me from the same breeder, though they arrived 3 months apart...The first kitten B'Elanna, I used to sing to before I went to sleep...One time I ended my singing with 'Now I lay me down to sleep I pray the Lord my soul to keep & if I die before I wake I pray the Lord my soul to take'...What was astonishing to me was the little kitten bowed down her head when I started reciting the words...She knew the prayer...This was a Christian kitten! Later when Jadzia arrived, I already knew what to expect...Sure enough, the same bowing...</b></div>

<b>4)I know in Africa they refer to death as several stages...As in, 'is he a 5?' 5 might mean very dead...'or is he a 2?' 2 might be just a little bit dead...It is a scalable thing...Might be useful in hospitals...I mean, you know when someone is on their way...But you don't know how far they have gotten...Are they unconscious? can they breathe on their own? These are stages of death...In the same way, morality should be scalable...Is she a little bit moral? Say a 2...She likes to feed pigeons but she can be harsh with stray moths...Is she a 5? She picked up an injured raccoon off the road & walks her disabled neighbour's dog daily...</b></div>
<b>
</b>
<br />
<div style="font: normal normal normal 14px/normal 'Helvetica Neue'; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="color: #073763;">
<b>5)There could be a ratings system, a questionnaire of sorts...How moral are you? I don't distinguish between humans & animals myself, because humans are animals...So the questionnaire would be comprehensive...</b></div>

<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #cc0000;">(my answer to a dissenter there...) This article argues with a cold scientific/philosophic world context that pre-assumes immorality...It is more of an answer than some sort of lukewarm mash of "on the other hand" that you can find elsewhere...It is by Mark Rowlands, & as such, if you have read his other books, might understand that you are talking to someone who loves animals...If you have a problem with this bias, I suggest that you are at fault, not this article...The fact that there are more examples spoken of, of animal immorality, just shows that the world of science & philosophy is biased in its own human egotism & a priori conceits...The good people aren't speaking because they are too busy tending to their friends, the fish, the geese, the wolves, & the swans...Which is harder work than complaining that you got scratched by your cat, thus your cat must be immoral...</span></b></div>

Below (video):This is me, still waiting to receive my refund...(A refund from Td Insurance for selling me credit card insurance that self-employed people cannot use)...<br />
Aside: (Canada Post has a deal with Td Insurance, where even though you pay them 13 dollars for a signature & fast delivery, that they dump your couriered package into a holding area, for up to 15 days, & then Td Insurance signs when there are 100-200 items at one time...Canada Post just sent me a refund cheque for my 13 dollars, after I opened an investigation about this...I had to call & make them search for the envelope containing my release form in order to get them to receive it...Long story short, deliver your important documents in person...)<br />
Once they got the release(I signed a release based on the fact that Td Insurance would be giving me a refund on all my premiums for selling me a credit card insurance product over the phone that a self-employed person could not make a job loss claim on, ever...), they hemmed & hawed for a while, then I found out that apparently the entire office had "gone on vacation", together...<br />
However, when they found out that legally the release does not take effect until I got a cheque, that I could still talk because they hadn't refunded me my money yet, that expedited things...The fact that CBC Marketplace was wanting to do a full on 1-2 hour interview with me on Tuesday afternoon(I said I could not if I had received the cheque before then), helped to motivate the lone person still at the office to do the right thing & Purolator a cheque to me...However, I was told it was coming yesterday & it didn't...Now I am told it is coming today...It has not...As of yet...Once I get the cheque in hand, I will have to shut up about this...But I encourage others to keep trying to get your refund...<br />

By the way, don't be fooled by credit card insurance promises: In Canada, if you get sick, OHIP covers your medical costs...If you die, your relatives are NOT beholden to pay off your credit card debts...Don't be fooled...Self-employed people cannot make a claim for job loss...Nor can freelance workers, seasonal workers, part-time workers, workers who think they are full-time workers but maybe have two weeks at Christmas where they only worked 20 hours per week instead of 40 hours per week(Yes, someone was declined a claim based on that exact reason!)...Know that most people who are sold credit card insurance do not qualify to make a claim from the beginning...Students don't qualify...retired people don't qualify...People with pre-existing medical conditions don't qualify...Either you don't qualify, or they figure out a way to deny you a claim at the end...The secret to credit card insurance is to sell as much as you can, then don't fill any claims, ever...That way profit is huge...It is illegal in England now...The Class Action lawsuit wins in the States are piling up...Canada has banned any insurance sale in the province of Alberta without an insurance licence...Yes, credit card insurance sellers do NOT have an insurance licence...Do NOT, under any circumstance, buy any insurance from anyone who doesn't have an insurance licence...Ask...Do you have an insurance licence? If the answer is no, then hang up the phone...Run...It is a scam, sham , fraud, con, fool, moneygrab, ruse, shill...</div>

(The truth is I used the f word in a couple of different ways in the beginning of a blog post on my <a href="http://sarigrove.weebly.com/">http://sarigrove.weebly.com</a> website...I was enormously irritated about spending an hour learning how to set up Piwigo.org's software on freehosting.com using the Softaculous installer, & then when I finally got it to set up, it was so bare bones that it was going to require a whole new large learning curve for me to even get it operational...So I used the f- word very creatively to describe how I felt about trying to do something only to find out that the mountain I had just climbed was just a hill attached to an even bigger mountain...I mean, I LIKE mountains...But when I set my goals it is hard to have to reset them higher, when I would have thought I was there already...So, long story short, if I was to guess as to why the weebly spam filter website takedown shutdown function got enabled, it was because I Dr. Seuss'ed with the f-word in poetic creative ways...Joseph, my darling gorgeous handsome husband, taught me the creative rhyming of the f word...So, despite my ranting below, it was really my own fault probably for swearing that I got my websites shut down...I sort of approve of stern actions when it comes to swearing-though, it was a little harsh waking up to no websites...My <a href="http://groveart.weebly.com/">http://groveart.weebly.com</a> also got blocked by proxy automatically with the shut down, as well as a little site I had made for my mum, as a trial run...)<br />
<br />
What happened:<br />
So today, I went to our Weebly websites to add some new ideas to one of my blogs there...Lo & behold the weebly sites had disappeared completely...I discovered that Weebly's automated system had decided that I had done something wrong & that Weebly had banned my websites, all of them & blocked my ability to log in completely...This was done with no explanation or warning & apparently cannot be reversed...<br />
What I find in violation of the law here is that weebly has blocked me from accessing & retrieving all of my intellectual property...If someone finds your art objectionable, they are not allowed to keep it...In fact, I do not know what was objectionable or not because the site was blocked without explanation...Support gave me no reason...No warning...No email saying could you remove this link or this post or whatever...<br />
So they have all of my content & have blocked my ability to get it back...<br />
This is theft of property...<br />
I have seen this kind of behaviour before...<br />
A landlord closed down a gallery & attempted to keep all of my paintings...<br />
They are not allowed to do that...Despite being illegal, you still have to somehow extricate your work, while dealing with an unsavoury character...<br />
I did get my work back, but it was horrible having to deal with such a slimy creature...<br />
When companies do unreasonable things it is often only the tip of the iceberg...<br />
You later find out that there are some very rude people working customer support...<br />
It is quite common for a flouting of the law to accompany disagreeable people...<br />
This is what I am finding out about weebly...<br />
Not only have they been illegal in their actions but they have been unpleasant in their response to my queries...<br />
I suspect that they are merely unhappy with the fact that so many use their service for free...Why offer free services if you want people to pay???<br />
Are people really going to pay when they can use the service for free?<br />
Anyways...I moved my domain names to another host immediately...<br />
I am very unhappy with how Weebly is behaving...But it is better to find this out earlier rather than later...<br />
My new host is quite wonderful...Artistically I mean...I suspect that greater artistic genius goes with greater customer service too...<br />

Turnaround Climax:<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #134f5c;"><b>Update to this post today, Tuesday July 24th, 2012</b></span>:<br />
<br />
Ok, so today I got an email from a very pleasant Weebly support person...Lord! Lord Almighty! Lord!<br />
Hallelujah!<br />
Ok, so they said that they think the site takedown was an error...error...error...awesome...<br />
I got my stuff back...I got my content back...They let me back in...<br />
I can log in again...I am no longer a criminal...<br />
Saved...(by the blood of a lamb...that's a Bob Dylan song lyric by the way from a little known album called "Saved"...)<br />
Ok, so I am Baaaack...<br />
<br />
<br />
Denouement:<br />
<a href="http://grovecanada.magix.net/website#/Homepage">http://grovecanada.magix.net/website#/Homepage</a> This is GroveCanada.magix.net ...<br />
<br />
This Magix.net site provider has always been quite wonderful...Delightful...But in an age when people rush about, waiting for a complex butterfly animation to fly across a screen is possibly too long...<br />
Well, take a look...I put together a sample site there to see how people responded...Back then I sensed impatience...But people are older now, so maybe it works better now...Or not...Not sure...I leave things alone when I am not sure...Don't throw them out, don't use them either...Just keep them around until they speak to me...I am not a hoarder, I am a waitor...<br />
<br />
Conclusion:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWqJV0swFN2lzhywo3VByt7t31FsI-ppIWRdK-dFJe68eqsJfeTMxqF_UNLFd2pMYQG79zdAevSsD_940on6pblvO_YiplkqPx9dDUsWADTNFvyQWPC0lwR2hNWONPOTx-e2lyDtsiZrF1/s1600/DSC03230.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWqJV0swFN2lzhywo3VByt7t31FsI-ppIWRdK-dFJe68eqsJfeTMxqF_UNLFd2pMYQG79zdAevSsD_940on6pblvO_YiplkqPx9dDUsWADTNFvyQWPC0lwR2hNWONPOTx-e2lyDtsiZrF1/s320/DSC03230.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
In Conclusion, Longo's makes pretty good pizza...Hmm, that is a non sequitur...In conclusion, here is a nice picture of a cat...No, that doesn't work...In conclusion my mother bought us a car...Ok, better...<br />
<br />
In Conclusion my mother bought us a brand new used car...It is called a Toyota Matrix XR with the Sport package which includes like EVERYTHING on the planet including a real plug hole not a lighter plug hole but a real plug hole so you could like blow dry your hair in your car, not like you have to though cause it comes with a moonroof which is like a sunroof but it also lets you see the moon cause it is see through & it has more than 40 inches of headroom for really tall people like me & Joseph & it has alloy wheels which don't rust as much as regular wheels & it is in a colour called Sundance metallic & did I mention we didn't have to pay for it & it is not a hybrid because Joseph doesn't really believe in hybrids instead we drive as little as possible which is now about 5 thousand kilometres a year together so that is pretty good and...<br />
<br />
Big take a breath...<br />
<br />
Ok, but it does have 70 thousand kilometres on it already but that is ok because we are going to take good care of it & park it indoors & did you know you can buy a longer clip on rearview mirror to increase the length of your reaview & you can also buy little round stick on convex mirrors which make objects appear bigger in your sideview mirrors where you stick on the little round mirrors to see better around your blind spots?<br />
<br />
I learned the mirror add on trick from somebody nice at DesJardins Insurance who are nice & that word Desjardins means "The gardens" which makes me happy though it sounds a bit like a cemetary plot or a retirement home or something equally placating though restful but related to dying or something but what do you expect from insurance I mean it must be all about death as a bread & butter fear experience, No?<br />
Big another take a breath...<br />
So we have to pay for the car tomorrow & them maybe Thursday we get to take her home...The colour is really spectacular it dances in the sun...Sundance metallic...Not orange...Sundance...Love it...<br />
So that is the good news...<br />
<br />
A letter to Desjardins Insurance today:(Wednesday now)(names have been abbreviated with dashes for no particular reason)...<br />
<br />
If you press the button called COMMAND & also the button called + then the font of the next thing will get bigger on your screen...try it, it is a neat thing to know, really, even if you are not OLD like me...I am old...old...old...old...old...Ok I'll stop...old...<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Rods: size 10-24 Material:Galvanized steel (which doesn't rust in cement) Specifications:Rods are threaded to accept hexagonal nuts which are also threaded</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Nuts: size & why: 12-24, these are one size bigger than the rod because the same size nuts get stuck as you try to thread them high up along the rods, the larger size nut still holds true but is easier to wind onto the rods, especially important for complex structures...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Copper Strapping: The holes in the copper strapping fit the 10-24 rod size diameter perfectly, which allows you to join several rods together by pushing them through different holes in the strapping, then bolting them...This makes for tremendous possibilities...I invented this idea because Joseph wouldn't let me weld....(too dangerous)...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
3/4 inch flange</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
3/4 inch black steel nipple to thread into flange</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
3/4 inch TEE to stick into black steel nipple</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The flange, nipple & Tee are all to hold the rod in place...Upright...I have two bolts on the rod & two pieces of copper strapping in a cross shape, to hold the rod steady in the TEE in the nipple in the flange...This keeps the Daffodil upright...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Aluminum mesh screen: I started to wrap the stem of the daffodil with this...Eventually all the petals & any exposed parts will be wrapped in this mesh & that will be tied on with simple copper wire pieces, with the twist tightened with pliers (of each little tie)...Cement needs the mesh to stick to...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Painting: I used the free Painting program for Mac to see how yellow colour will look on the petals...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Preview: I used Preview to cut out the image from its background, which makes shapes easier to discern when planning a piece...(Hit "Select" in Preview, then hit "Lasso Selection", then lasso the entire subject you want to keep, then hit "Invert Selection" from the "File" menu at the very top of your screen, then hit "CUT" in the same top of your screen "File" menu...The Preview function will cut away your background...Fotoflexer.com has a function that does this more subtly, but it takes a little longer than the Preview way...)</div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">"Friend" cultured marble, the size of 2 hands, front, side & back views...</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
So I made my own cultured marble from Aragonite sand mixed with Weldbond glue...Yes, that is just crushed marble & glue...I made putty to attach the two pieces together using baby powder (just the all talc kind) mixed with powdered glue...I also discovered that the pure liquid Weldbond glue leaves a shiny coating on the marble if you use it full strength...I also learned that the glass fiber reinforced marble bits were way stronger than the thinner no glass fiber marble mix...So if you are going to make your own marble, use glass fibers to reinforce the mix...The baby Powder to powder glue proportion should be about 1 part to 1 part...That makes a strong putty...Also know that powdered glue gives off way less of a stink than liquid glue- my recommendation is to skip the liquid glue & search for a powdered glue before you start...I had to learn the hard way- via the headache you get from using liquid glue, even with my respirator mask...<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">So, the wings have settled slightly lower due to the weight of the concrete, which makes the Bee look more like an organic design for a new aircraft...I realize now that I didn't add antennae, but maybe that was a good decision to avoid cuteness...Though I have now added bee stripes, I think I like this earlier vision which did not have striping-it is more pure...I have completed the entire underside now & will go back & finish the top of the platform & some detailing...Thanks to Nick Nickolson who has taught me how to handle cement in a more graceful & less lumpy fashion...If you are irking to learn this craft, I recommend you take one of his classes...</td></tr>
